A few days after its president, Barthélemy Guislain, announced its arrival in Côte d'Ivoire, Auchan inaugurated its first Ivorian supermarket in the Cocody district of Abidjan on Tuesday, June 14.
In addition to this 900 m² supermarket in Cocody, Auchan will also open four MyAuchan convenience stores in Cocody, Abobo, and two in Yopougon by the end of June.
These stores will offer a varied range of products, mainly food, consisting of local products and Auchan brand products.
Ivory Coast thus becomes Auchan's second country of operation on the African continent, after Senegal, where the brand has 36 of its own stores and an e-commerce site coupled with a drive-through and home delivery service.
The Blue Lions Abidjan agency, headed by Alexis Dilas, is responsible for supporting Auchan Retail in all aspects of communication and marketing structure.
For the time being, communication efforts to reach the Ivorian population are mainly focused on press relations and social media.
