The global Sabre Awards now has an "Africa" category

In the field of public relations, the award presented by the Holmes Group serves as a benchmark. This award recognizes the best achievements in branding, reputation, and engagement.
The award has been named the "African Sabre Award" and launched in partnership with the African Public Relations Association (AFPRA). The deadline for submissions is January 9, 2017.

Until now, Africa has been represented as a category in the competition for the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa).

The introduction of an African award will allow the winners to compete for the global award, which brings together more than 5,000 public relations projects from around the world.

"In recent years, we have seen some exceptional public relations work coming out of Africa,

" said Paul Holmes, chairman of the Sabre Awards jury. In his view, "the best African campaigns are just as strategic, creative, and effective as the work of the best European campaigns." He concludes: "It is now time for Africa to have its own competition so that we can see more of this great work."

The APRA is delighted to participate in the African Sabre Award. The president of this professional association, Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, says: "Recognition of the quality of work produced across the continent is important, not only for industry players, but also for clients. We firmly believe that recognition inspires continuous improvement and encourages a continued focus on skills development."
