TV5MONDE, the French-language channel, is exclusively broadcasting a new comedy web series called "Mama Africa" on its app and website "TV5MONDE AFRIQUE."
Conceived and written by young Cameroonian author Eding Labatut and produced by the Ivorian company Making ON, "Mama Africa" is a short and punchy web series, with each episode lasting two minutes, which recounts the bewildering exchanges between an African mama and her children.
This series of short episodes aims to bring together young and old viewers from the French-speaking world with hilarious parodies and touching realities that illustrate the daily life of a mother.
In summary: In their small house in a working-class neighborhood, Mama raises her two teenagers, Majolie and Toupéti, amid daily routines and comical scenes. Majolie, 12, the youngest of the family, is both cautious and mischievous and has to deal with her big brother Toupéti, 14, who is talkative and clumsy. Both are the darlings of their mother, whose displays of love are always a little special. Mama, generous and proud, always reacts with dark humor, sprinkled with well-chosen retorts in every situation, which doesn't seem to faze the two teenagers.
Two episodes are broadcast each week on the website: afrique.tv5monde.com and on the free TV5MONDE Afrique app*.
