TV5MONDE Afrique, the leading international channel in French-speaking Africa for viewers aged 30 and over

According to the latest Africascope* study, TV5MONDE Afrique ranks first in weekly audience ratings among viewers aged 30 and over. On average, nearly one in two viewers aged over 30 (49.4%) watched TV5MONDE Afrique at least once a week between January and December 2018.

– Among executives and managers, it ranks second with an average weekly audience of 76% across the eight countries covered by the study, up 0.5 points from the previous wave.

– It ranks first in terms of brand awareness among viewers aged 30 and over (84.2%). TV5MONDE Afrique is also a well-known brand among executives and managers (98.5%) and among those aged 15 and over (84.5%).

– TV5MONDE Afrique has once again been named "best channel for African news" by viewers interested in news from the continent.

– African series continue to be popular with the channel's viewers: 64% (+2 points vs. June 2018) say they watch them often or occasionally.

TV5MONDE Afrique is available unencrypted on the SES 5 satellite, as are the children's channel TiVi5 MONDE and the lifestyle channel STYLE HD. It is also available on the main satellite operator platforms and in DTT packages.

These excellent results for TV5MONDE Afrique, complemented by those of RFI and FRANCE 24 in the same wave, demonstrate the appeal of the complementary range of French and French-language channels, which continues to attract a large number of viewers and listeners in the region.
