As a partner of major international and French-language festivals, TV5Monde is joining forces with the latest edition of FESPACO, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. This anniversary edition will be featured on the channel with the program "300 Millions de critiques" (300 Million Critics) as well as "L'Invité" (The Guest), which will be relocated to Ouagadougou for the occasion. Patrick Simonin will welcome the actors and actresses who are making headlines at the festival for an exclusive interview broadcast every evening on "L'invité" at 6:50 p.m.
This year, the French-language channel has supported the production of seven programs in competition: four feature films, two dramas, an animated film, a drama, and a documentary, out of competition in the "Discovery" category. TV5MONDE will award the prize for best screenplay in the feature film category at the FESPACO closing ceremony on March 2. For the 50th edition, TV5MONDE has decided to award a second prize for best screenplay on an exceptional basis.
