Training in digital professions is a real challenge for African countries. There is a considerable gap between the expectations of companies engaged in transformation and the skills available locally. To address this challenge, Orange launched the Orange Digital Academy in Côte d'Ivoire last January, dedicated to coding and training in digital professions.
Officially inaugurated on May 2, the Orange Digital Academy in Côte d'Ivoire announced the launch of its first class. After receiving 6,500 applications, 20 students aged 18 to 35 were selected to begin a five-month training program to develop skills in the fields of digital technology and innovation. Classes will begin on May 6.
According to Mamadou Bamba, the inauguration of the Orange Digital Academy reflects the objective of Orange Côte d'Ivoire, of which he is the CEO, to contribute fully to improving the employability of young people in the face of digital challenges.
