As an operator committed to the digital transformation of the country and more broadly in Africa, Orange Côte d'Ivoire has chosen, for the ninth year, to reward national startups with the 2019 Social Entrepreneur Award.
In first place is the young startup Biosave. This is a young Ivorian company dedicated to protecting the environment by recycling waste, particularly for local agriculture, using a mobile application.
The company Baloon took second place in the "Impact Startup" category thanks to its 100% digital platform dedicated to insurance and established in Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, and Cameroon. Tutoo+, a platform dedicated to online training in French-speaking Africa, won third prize.
This 9th edition was also marked by women's empowerment, with the "Female Entrepreneurship" award going to the startup LegalActs. Founded by Synthiche Yao, LegalActs is a smartphone app that brings together all the information that can be useful to anyone when dealing with administrative procedures, in complete legality.
These winning startups will soon compete against winners from other countries for the Orange Social Entrepreneur Prize Africa & Middle East. This pan-African competition, presided over by an international jury, will be held on November 14.
