On Thursday, November 28, at the French Institute in Ivory Coast, the MTV Staying Alive Foundation officially presented the first two episodes of the MTV Shuga Babi series.
MTV Shuga Babi is the first version of the MTV Shuga series, adapted for the first time for French-speaking African audiences. Côte d'Ivoire is hosting this first adaptation of the popular series, which chronicles the lives of young people living in Africa.
The first season of MTV Shuga Babi presents basic knowledge about HIV, including condom use, sex work, and discrimination against people living with HIV in Côte d'Ivoire.
A multimedia campaign has also been launched to promote the new series and raise awareness of HIV among young French-speaking Africans. In addition to the television series, the MTV Shuga Babi campaign includes a radio series, digital content, and local events.
The first season consists of eight episodes and a documentary.
