Moussa Soumbounou steps down as CEO of Universal Music Africa

Moussa Soumbounou announced on social media that he was leaving Universal Music Africa, where he was Managing Director.

It should be noted that Universal Music Group, the global leader in the music industry, announced in 2018 that it was creating a new division of the group dedicated to the label's activities in French-speaking Africa.

The Universal group chose to set up the offices for this new division, headed by Moussa Soumbounou as CEO, in the Ivorian economic capital, Abidjan.

He was in charge of the label's activities in 22 African countries, including Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Comoros, Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo (Kinshasa), Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Seychelles, Chad, and Togo.
