France Médias Monde's historical performance in digital media in 2019

France Médias Monde had a record year in its digital environments in 2019, with an average of 41.6 million monthly visits (nearly 500 million visits over the year), representing an increase of 21% (vs. 2018). In addition, French and international news enabled the group to record more than 130 million video views and audio plays (+73%) on average each month, or more than 1.5 billion over the whole of 2019.

Foreign-language offerings*, which account for 50% of total traffic, continued to grow significantly in 2019 (+34%). RFI's foreign-language editorial teams' digital environments recorded a 55% increase in traffic, while those offering Arabic-language content (France 24 and Monte Carlo Doualiya) saw a 12% increase, and visits to France 24's English and Spanish websites rose by 19% and 72% respectively.

On social media, RFI, France 24, and Monte Carlo Doualiya now have over 76 million followers (Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram). These excellent results confirm the success of France Médias Monde's global digital strategy, which aims to develop tailored offerings and attract new users, as well as the global audience's appetite for French international channels.
