France 24 joins forces with artists in the fight against Covid-19 in Africa

Mobilized to provide information and prevention in Africa, in the context of the global health crisis linked to the Covid-19 pandemic, France 24 is partnering with UNESCO and the Innovation for Policy Foundation to highlight cultural initiatives that have emerged on the continent and emphasize the important role of artists in the fight against misinformation. To mark the occasion, France 24 is broadcasting the debate "ResiliArt, #DontGoViral" on Facebook, hosted by Valériane Gauthier (France 24) with cultural figures, as well as a digital concert featuring numerous artists from across Africa and the diaspora. In addition, France 24 and RFI are partners of the "WAN Show 2.0," a virtual concert initiated by Amobé Mévégué and sponsored by Youssou N'Dour, bringing together more than a hundred artists.

On Saturday, May 30, at 2:15 p.m., the program "Afrique Hebdo," hosted by Valériane Gauthier, will revisit the highlights of the concert.

The concert will be broadcast from 9 p.m. (Paris time) on social media using the hashtags #JeSuisWan and #IAmWan, as well as on all African national channels and some private channels, with the support of the African Union, UNESCO, and the Most Beautiful African Dream Academy for Youth (MOBADAY) organization, among others.
