IPTV in Cameroon: -16.9% in the second half of the year

2020 was a particularly difficult year for TV channels CRTV and CANAL2.

While the first half of the year was already down 9.7% due to the health crisis, the second half did not allow the two channels studied to recover, ending down 16.9% compared to the second half of 2020.

According to the Omedia institute, which monitors advertising in several African countries, TV advertising investment in December 2020 was down 7.9% after a slight increase in November compared to the same period the previous year.

On the advertiser side, there was considerable stability. As every month, the TOP 10 was occupied by the same brands (telecoms, beer, online betting sites, food, etc.), with the notable exception of TV+, a television channel distributor, which entered the TOP 10 for the first time and ranked fourth.
