Hémisphère Media Production Africa wins award at ASCOM 2021

The 2021 edition of ASCOM, initiated by Ivorian journalist Michel Russel Lohoré, came to a close on June 10 in Abidjan in the presence of the Minister of Communication, Media, and Francophonie, Mr. Amadou Coulibaly.

Personalities, companies, agencies, and institutions from the world of communication gathered for this 2021 edition, marked by the global pandemic, with the theme: "communicating to resist and bounce back."

Indeed, the health crisis has severely damaged the communication sector. It is now time to take stock and reflect on the major developments in the sector, particularly in the digital field. The pandemic crisis has repeatedly demonstrated the importance of digitalization for businesses. In this regard, the event featured a conference on the theme "The African advertising market in the era of the digital revolution," moderated by Fabrice Sawegnon, CEO of the VOODOO group.

ASCOM is also an opportunity to reward the talents and initiatives of various players involved in the development of communication in Côte d'Ivoire. The ASCOM awards are given to the most talented and active professionals, agencies, companies, and personalities in some twenty categories. The jury for the 2021 ASCOM Awards was chaired by Anne-Marie Konan-Payne (Communication Expert, President of the Delayam Institute for Active Citizenship – IDCA).

The ASCOM Awards ceremony, orchestrated by a jury of professionals, recognized the following personalities:

  • Honorary Award for the Minister of Communication of Congo-Brazzaville, Thierry Moungalla
  • Inspiring Talent Award to Joyce Sagoe, Marketing and Communications Director at Société Générale, Ivory Coast
  • Award of Excellence for Hémisphère Media Production Africa

In total, around 40 awards were presented to individuals who work and excel in the communications sector in Côte d'Ivoire and Africa.
