Starting July 21, TV5MONDE Afrique will broadcast the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in 46 countries in sub-Saharan Africa, acquired in partnership with Infront Sports & Media. TV5MONDE is delighted with this broadcast, which will promote the values of sport and the French language across the African continent, with a particular focus on African teams, athletes, and competitors.
The opening ceremony will be broadcast on Friday, July 23, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Dakar time) on TV5MONDE Afrique.
Starting July 24, six hours of live coverage will be broadcast daily from 3 a.m. to 2 p.m. (GMT), 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. (GMT), and 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. (GMT). Then, starting August 5, viewers will be able to watch up to nine hours of live coverage per day. Each evening, a 60-minute summary program, "Tokyo 2020, la quotidienne," will present the best moments of the day and review the various Olympic events.
It should be noted that TV5MONDE Afrique will
broadcast the soccer matches starting on July 21,
three days before the official start of the Games:
