At the end of July, the Vivendi group presented its results for the first half of 2021.
Overall, the group posted revenues of €8.2 billion, up 11.9% at constant exchange rates and scope compared to the first half of 2020.
As for the CANAL+ group, Groupe Canal+'s revenues amounted to €2,782 million in the first half of 2021, up 4.7% at constant exchange rates and scope compared to the first half of 2020.
The total subscriber base (individual and collective) reached 22.1 million, including 8.9 million in mainland France, compared with 20.4 million in the first half of 2020.
Compared to the first half of 2020, Canal+ Africa gained nearly 1 million subscribers (989,000 subscribers) to reach 5.944 million subscribers at the end of June 2021. The threshold of 6 million individual subscribers, which was almost reached at the end of the year, will certainly be exceeded by December 2021.
With this remarkable performance, Africa has surpassed Europe (excluding mainland France), which has 5,277,000 subscribers, in terms of subscriber numbers.
