Universal Music Africa Academy holds its first training workshops

Since expanding its activities to the African continent, Universal Music's ambition has been to discover and reveal new talent, build a lucrative African market for artists, and develop a network of expertise.

To take this further, the major label is launching a training program with the launch of the Universal Music Africa Academy to offer artistic opportunities to future young musical talent.

UMA ACADEMY is a program that offers professional training dedicated to careers in music to help professionalize the sector.

Four training modules have been created:

  • Music Business: challenges and business model
  • Music contracts
  • Artist management and artistic direction
  • Live and brand professions

Masterclasses are also organized. Monica Mollon, CEO of Canal+ Advertising, led the first Masterclass on employability in the music industry. Artist NIX, co-founder of the music streaming platform DEEDO, will lead the next session on December 1 on the theme of "Launching your own label."
