To mark the 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, taking place in Cameroon from January 9 to February 6, 2022, France 24 is offering special coverage to bring the competition to life for its viewers and internet users across five continents. All the results and highlights of the Africa Cup of Nations can be followed on television and on the international channel's digital platforms.
Throughout the competition, France 24's special correspondents will be reporting live from Yaoundé and Douala: Benoît Perrochais (French), Cédric Ferreira (French), Simon Harding (English), James Vasina (English), Hedi Ajmi (Arabic), Atmane Taibi (ar), and Federico Cué (esp), will be following the matches daily and providing summaries, reports, interviews, and scoreboards.
On January 9 at 4:10 p.m., France 24 will broadcast a special edition of the opening ceremony, presented by Eliott Samuel (French), Selina Sykes (English), and Olivier Fiani (Arabic). The special correspondents will provide live commentary on the ceremony and highlight the key moments of the opening day.
The CAN highlights
From January 10 to February 6, every evening (except Friday), France 24 will review the highlights of the CAN in its sports news program at 11:10 p.m. on the French and Arabic channels, and at 11:40 p.m. on the English channel. Sports journalists and consultants Xavier Barret and Hervé Kouamouo analyze the competition and go behind the scenes of training sessions, with live reports from special correspondents in the stadiums.
Le Café des Sports
Every Friday at 11:10 p.m., the RFI and France 24 sports program is largely devoted to the CAN. On January 21, Annie Gasnier (RFI) will present a special edition from Yaoundé during the final phase of the competition.
On digital platforms
France 24's digital editorial team of special correspondents, Laura Mousset (French), Romain Houeix (English), David Beaux (English), and Allaoua Meziani (Arabic), will be providing exclusive coverage, videos, profiles, slideshows, and infographics related to the competition.
