Médiamétrie also indicates that television outperforms other media during match broadcast times: for example, an average of nearly 48.8% of respondents watched the 5-7 p.m. slot in January, compared to 27.4% in the second half of 2021.

Regarding the internet, Médiamétrie indicates that 53.4% of respondents said they had connected to the internet the day before.

Furthermore, social media usage remains high, with 68.0% of individuals registered on at least one social network; Facebook still leads the way, followed by Instagram, Twitter, and then LinkedIn. Among those registered on a social network, 44.5% say they log on every day or almost every day.

Médiamétrie and its subsidiary Omedia conducted this study from January 9 to January 24, 2022. The surveys were conducted face-to-face in one 16-day wave with 1,226 people aged 15 and over who were representative of the population living in Yaoundé and Douala.
