The African Media Awards, organized by the Pan-African Journalists Network, will honor media professionals on the continent each year.
For its first edition, the jury chose to reward two specialties in broadcast journalism, namely the best radio and television news presenters from the twelve French-speaking African countries that participated in the competition.
The criteria used to judge the competitors were: radio voice, good diction, ability to improvise, mastery of the language of expression, level of general knowledge, cheerfulness, telegenic appearance, and economy of contact with the camera, which consists of looking at the audience rather than the script on the set.
