The countdown has begun for Season 2 of the Basketball Africa League!
On the schedule: 12 teams will compete in Senegal, Egypt, and Rwanda for a total of 38 games.
In February 2020, just a few months after the creation of the first NBA Academy Africa in Dakar, aimed at identifying talent and structuring African basketball, the NBA announced the launch of the Basketball Africa League, the first professional basketball league created outside the United States. This new initiative marked a crucial step for the NBA and its international development, but also for the future of basketball, a sport that is very popular in Africa after soccer.
After a successful first edition in 2021, the second edition of the Basketball Africa League will take place from March to May 2022 and will be broadcast from March 5 on CANAL+SPORT channels.
