Among those who are familiar with DTT, 51.9%
intend to purchase an adapter to receive digital television, representing 34.4%
of Abidjan residents. At the end of 2021, this indicator stood at 29.7%. INTERNET
In the same survey, the percentage of people who said they had connected to the internet the previous day fell to 51.7%
of respondents, compared to 56.8%
in the fourth quarter of 2021 and 54.8%
in the third quarter of 2021.
Social media use is also declining, with 64.7%
of individuals reporting that they are registered on at least one social network, compared to 68.7%
in the fourth quarter of 2021 and 69.7%
in the third quarter of 2021.
Among the main social networks, Facebook still leads the way, followed by Instagram, Twitter, and then LinkedIn.
The number of people registered on a social network is falling sharply, with 46.8%
saying they log on every day or almost every day, compared to 52.4
% at the end of 2021.
This study provides information on awareness, viewing habits and audience figures for television channels, as well as internet usage on a quarterly basis. It is supplemented twice a year by audience measurements for radio stations. The surveys were conducted face-to-face in three 16-day waves from January 8 to March 20, 2022, among 1,693 people aged 15 and over who are representative of the population living in Abidjan.
