Médiamétrie has published the audience results for the second wave (January/March 2022) of its regular declarative measurement, conducted with Omedia from January 8 to 23, 2022, and from March 5 to 20, 2022, in Douala and Yaoundé.

INTERNET 48.2

% of respondents said they had connected to the Internet the previous day. These results are slightly down compared to the last survey published in Cameroon by Médiamétrie, since in the second half of 2021 (fieldwork carried out from October 9 to December 19), 51.1%

of respondents said they had connected to the Internet the previous day.

Social media use remains high, with 64.1% of individuals registered on at least one social network; Facebook still leads the way, followed by Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Among those registered on a social network, 41.4% say they log on every day or almost every day.

The TV audience and Internet usage study, based on bi-monthly data collection, provides information on awareness, viewing habits, and audience figures for television channels six times a year and radio stations twice a year in Cameroon, Yaoundé, and Douala. It also includes data on residents' multimedia equipment and Internet usage. Médiamétrie and its subsidiary Omedia conducted this study from January 9 to January 24, 2022, and from March 6 to March 21, 2022. The surveys were conducted face-to-face in two 32-day waves among 1,879 people aged 15 and over who are representative of the population living in Yaoundé and Douala.
