CANAL+ has further increased its stake in Multichoice, as indicated by the financial results for the year ending March 31, 2022, published in early June by the South African group.
With 18.44% of Multichoice's capital, CANAL+, which had already increased its stake in September 2021, has consolidated its position as the largest shareholder in the South African group.
It is no secret that the CANAL+ group has made international development one of its strategic priorities.
The complementary nature of Multichoice and the CANAL+ Group, both in terms of acquiring sports rights and producing international-quality fiction, is a key asset for both companies in the face of SVOD platforms that are increasingly interested in Africa.
