TERRANGA features two prominent Senegalese families, the Gueyes and the Sidibés, who are embroiled in a health and environmental scandal. In the crosshairs of the famous Ricochet, a whistleblower adored by younger generations in Africa, the two patriarchs, Seg Gueye and Mansour Sidibé, will have to prove their innocence to their loved ones and Dakar high society. Or is Ricochet right? Are they truly guilty? At the same time, Ruben Allepot, a young Senegalese man who was adopted at birth, returns to his native country to investigate his roots…
Set against the backdrop of an unprecedented ecological scandal, this new CANAL+ORIGINAL series promises passion, revenge, action, and suspense. Focusing on environmental issues, it also puts the modern agricultural world in perspective against the business world and highlights deeper issues such as identity and the fight for the environment.
Created by Cyril SEBAS DIOP, TERRANGA benefited from writing workshops, particularly in Senegal, to train five African screenwriters, in partnership with CFI, the French Media Development Agency. Filmed entirely in Senegal, the series was directed by the series' author alongside Angèle DIABANG, a Senegalese screenwriter and director. TERRANGA also features an all-Senegalese cast of actors who have already won acclaim in major Senegalese series, such as Arfang SANE, Ousseynou BA, Abdoulaye DIAKHATE, and Amélie MBAYE.
