The Togolese Football Federation has sold the TV broadcasting rights for its football competitions to the New World TV Group. The two institutions have signed an agreement for the TV broadcast of the D1 championship starting in the 2022-2023 season.
Starting in November, for the long-awaited resumption of the D1 championship, now called "D1 LONATO" for sponsorship reasons, the matches will be broadcast on NW Sport 5.
This exclusive partnership, which is valid for a period of four years, covers the production and broadcasting of the following events:
- D1 championship matches
- Promotional events related to the D1 Championship
- The best matches of the D2 and D1 (F) championships
- The U15 youth championship final
- Beach soccer matches
- The Independence Cup final
- The Super Cup
- The Togo Cup semi-finals and finals and the National Football Awards.
The New World TV Group will broadcast two D1 championship matches live each day on its NW Sport 5 channel, along with an in-depth magazine program lasting at least one hour on the D1 championship, including original opening credits and promotional content. The channel will also offer TV advertising to sponsors and advertisers associated with the competitions it broadcasts.
This agreement demonstrates NWTV's ambition for local competitions and confirms the group's expertise in covering major national and international sporting events. The First Division Championship, known as D1 LONATO for sponsorship reasons with LONATO, is the highest level championship organized by the Togolese Football Federation. It brings together the 16 best clubs and is played over 30 days.
