After opening a second Carrefour Market near Dakar in 2021, CFAO Consumer Retail is continuing its expansion in the country with a new shopping center in the port city of Saly, Senegal.
Built in ten months, this new shopping center includes a Carrefour Market supermarket with a sales area of 1,500 m² and a shopping arcade with 11 local and international brand stores.
According to Jean-Christophe BRINDEAU, CEO of CFAO Consumer Retail
, "this opening completes CFAO Consumer Retail's geographical presence in Senegal, where we have opened two Carrefour Market stores and two Supeco stores since 2019. This is an important development for us, demonstrating our commitment to growing our business in Senegal. Today, we are opening CFAO Consumer Retail's largest commercial site in Senegal. This is a comprehensive project, as we have built the entire building that we will manage and will operate a Carrefour Market supermarket there, where our customers will find a wide range of departments that allow us to showcase our expertise and what sets us apart.
International and local brands will be represented in this new shopping center, in line with the group's strategy of developing partnerships with local players.
As a reminder, CFAO Consumer Retail currently operates three Carrefour Market supermarkets, two Supeco supermarkets, and a shopping center with 11 stores in Senegal.
