As elsewhere on the continent, Senegalese series are hugely successful in the country, and local production companies are making their mark. Marodi TV is a prime example, with hit productions such as "Maîtresse d'un homme marié" (Mistress of a Married Man) and a digital-driven business model. These series have racked up millions of views online, not to mention their popularity with viewers. Marodi TV now has nearly 5 million subscribers on its YouTube channel.
To accelerate its development, the production company has also initiated partnerships with several major local television channels in Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire. Marodi TV has officially announced the signing of a partnership with the Ivorian channel NCI.
This key partnership will result in the production of a new series filmed by Marodi in Côte d'Ivoire, a first for the production company.
