DIGITAL AFRICA launches its Connectors program

Digital Africa is launching its Connectors program, a network of 15 high-caliber leaders collaborating with Digital Africa in their respective regions to help advance local and regional entrepreneurial and technological, research, and investment ecosystems in Africa.

The 15 Connectors will work with Digital Africa locally across the continent and help find tailored solutions to community challenges in order to develop effective opportunities.

They are responsible for carrying out four missions in their region:

  • Endorse the role of Ambassador representing Digital Africa in the region and act as a link between their community and Digital Africa
  • Organize activities and events on behalf of Digital Africa
  • Identify and mobilize resources (financial, opportunities, etc.)
  • Help map ecosystems and contribute to suggesting solutions

Selected from more than 400 candidates from 31 African countries, these 15 extraordinary Connectors, 7 women and 8 men, come from different backgrounds: entrepreneurs, investors, academics, etc. They were chosen for their professional experience, their strong leadership skills, but above all for their commitment to having a positive impact on the African technology ecosystem.

Through this bottom-up program, Digital Africa is strengthening its footprint on the continent and encouraging players in the African tech ecosystem to contribute to the development of their local and regional ecosystems.

Africa needs solutions designed by Africans to address the continent's structural and infrastructural problems, whether in the fields of health, sports, energy, or agriculture, and we believe that tech made in Africa is the way to achieve this.
