As part of their partnership, Netflix Grow Creative and GOBELINS are offering six scholarships for African students enrolling in the Master of Arts in Animation Film Design and Production program in September 2023, as part of their joint efforts to increase the pool of new animation talent from the African continent.
The scholarships will cover tuition fees for the entire duration of the program (two years for the Master of Arts) and part of the living expenses in Paris.
Although registration is unfortunately already closed for this year, these scholarships demonstrate the growing interest in training African talent in the audiovisual sector.
The program in question is as follows:
Animation Film Designer and Director – direct entry into the second cycle Master of Arts
The Animation Film Designer and Director program is a two-year Master's degree program.
The first year is devoted to deepening students' knowledge, particularly in the areas of filmmaking and storytelling, through sophisticated writing, storyboarding, and animation exercises (mixed techniques, character interaction).
The second year is devoted to the production of a final film project in teams on a theme of their choice, in conditions similar to those found in the professional environment of animation studios, video game companies, or freelance work, in France and internationally. The integration of intercultural issues is an important part of the curriculum, with 50% of the students in the program coming from abroad.
