Omega Radio resumes broadcasting its programs after being suspended on August 10.
It should be noted that Burkina Faso's transitional government had decided to suspend radio broadcasting. According to AFP, this suspension followed the broadcast of an interview described by the local government as "peppered with insults against the new Nigerien authorities."
Founded in 2011, Radio Omega is the most listened-to radio station in the country. It is a subsidiary of the Omega Media Group, which also owns a television channel and digital platforms, owned by journalist and former Foreign Minister Alpha Barry.
Several media outlets have been suspended in Burkina Faso in recent days, including the French media outlets LCI, RFI, and France 24.
