CAN 2024: The Lions of Teranga will face the Indomitable Lions

With less than 100 days to go before the kickoff of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, the official draw took place on October 12 in Abidjan. This draw was eagerly awaited by soccer fans, as it determines the groups for the final phase of the major sporting competition, which will take place this year in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, from January 13 to February 11. 

Appointed as conductors, Sadio Mané, Didier Drogba, and Achraf Hakimi proceeded to draw the groups. 

Senegal, the defending champion, will face Cameroon, Guinea, and Gambia in Group C, which was dubbed "the group of death" during the draw. Ivory Coast has been designated as the host of the event for the second time in its history, following the 1984 edition, which was marked by Cameroon's victory. The national team will face Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau. Here are the detailed results of the draw:

Originally scheduled for June and July 2023, the CAN has been postponed to avoid matches taking place during the rainy season. The competition will now be held from January 13 to February 11 in six stadiums across Abidjan, Bouaké, Korhogo, San Pedro, and Yamoussoukro, the capital.
