Senegalese public television, RTS, has just acquired the free-to-air broadcasting rights from New World TV for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
Under this agreement, matches will be broadcast live and exclusively on all RTS media (television, radio, digital platforms geo-blocked in Senegal), in French and Wolof. The rights acquired also cover the opening and closing ceremonies, the broadcast of highlights, and the possibility of rebroadcasting matches.
Senegal is the defending champion of the Africa Cup of Nations and had an excellent run in the last World Cup, reaching the round of 16. It is one of the main favorites in the competition.
The marketing of advertising space and partnerships is beginning. Even though there are only a few weeks left before the event begins, there is no doubt about its popular success and the interest it will generate among advertisers.
