Interview with Didier BLEOU, Director of LA3

RTI is broadcasting the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, which is being held in Ivory Coast. The competition
kicks off in a few hours. Are you ready for the competition?

At La 3, we are getting ready to offer our viewers the best of the CAN through relevant reports and analysis provided by renowned consultants. We are ready and just waiting
for kick-off on Saturday, January 13.

What broadcasting arrangements have you made to cover the event?
For the event, we have deployed a reporting team in each city hosting the competition: Yamoussoukro, Korhogo, Bouaké, San-Pedro, and of course Abidjan. We plan to have mobile units at large gatherings of supporters to bring the atmosphere to the Ivorian public. On the air, on match days, we plan to have a fun morning show around the CAN with renowned comedians, games, immersions, etc. Not to mention the pre-match shows introduced by our traditional debate L'Heure des Tchatcheurs, with analysis by renowned consultants such as Roger Milla, African champion at the 1984 CAN organized by Côte d'Ivoire with the Cameroon team; Gernot Rohr, current coach of Benin; Didier Six, former French international and coach; Gbohouo Sylvain: footballer, former goalkeeper for the Elephants; Kouadio Georges, former coach of the Elephants; Beugré Yago, former Ivorian footballer; Charles Dago, former Ivorian footballer. Joining them will be our lively commentators Choilio Diomandé, Martial Gohourou, Sanh Severin, and others.

The RTI group also held its traditional program launch ceremony. What are the main changes to the schedule? Are there any new programs?
This fall has allowed us to strengthen our editorial
content and prepare for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Digital technology is becoming increasingly important in Côte d'Ivoire. How are you responding to this development, which could be both a threat and an opportunity for the audiovisual sector? Do you produce content specifically for the web?
La 3, a channel focused on music and sports, can only welcome this development, given that it is a system widely used by our core target audience of 17-39 year olds. What's more, we have some great programs that draw their content from digital sources! In fact, we sometimes design content specifically for the
web. This allows us to attract viewers from that side as well.
