Idrissa Ouedraogo, new president of the High Council for Communication (CSC) IN BURKINA FASO

Idrissa Ouedraogo has been appointed President of the High Council for Communication (CSC) for a five-year term. He took office on February 1, replacing Abdoulazize Bamogo.

According to the new law passed in November 2023 in Burkina Faso, the right to appoint the head of the High Council for Communication (CSC) rests with the transitional president of Burkina Faso.

Idrissa Ouedraogo takes up his post at a time when the institution is undergoing major reform with the adoption of a law on the powers, composition, organization, and functioning of the High Council for Communication, including in particular the inclusion of social media within its remit.
