Summer shake-up for the Ivorian audiovisual sector

During the summer, two major events dominated the news in Côte d'Ivoire.

The Director General of Radiodiffusion Télévision Ivoirienne (RTI), Fausseni Dembéle, was dismissed and left his post on July 11 amid allegations of mismanagement and governance issues. His successor, Jean Martial Adou, faces an immense task in resisting the rise of private Ivorian channels.

At the same time, HACA President René Bourgoin stepped in to remind everyone that audience measurement was the exclusive prerogative of the HACA and that "audience measurements not certified by its team cannot be made public."

This long-standing "ban" did not prevent Life TV from taking advantage of Médiamétrie's second quarter 2024 results to communicate widely and with its usual effectiveness about its excellent results.

A few months ago, the HACA launched a call for tenders to select a single audience measurement institute authorized to operate in Côte d'Ivoire. The HACA's decision is imminent and eagerly awaited by all stakeholders.
