TV5MONDE is mobilizing for the 19th Francophonie Summit, which will take place on October 4 and 5 in Villers-Cotterêts and Paris.
The French-language channel is putting in place exceptional measures to cover the event on its channels and across all its digital platforms.
On the agenda:
more than 200 hours of French-language cultural programming on all TV5MONDE channels,
the creation of a "Summit Special" documentary section
and 700 hours of dedicated programming on TV5MONDEplus, a free global platform created on the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during the Summit of Francophone Heads of State in Yerevan in 2018.
For the first time in 33 years, France is hosting "The Conference of Heads of State and Government of Countries Sharing the French Language," also known as the Francophonie Summit.
From October 1 to 6, the editorial team, programs (magazines, documentaries, films, dramas, etc.), the French-language platform TV5MONDEplus, social media, and Apprendre et Enseigner, the channel's unique French language learning and teaching resource, will all be working together to share this unique celebration of the French language with French speakers and Francophiles around the world.
The TV5MONDE editorial team will be deployed across all the event's strategic locations, from the Cité internationale de la langue française in Villers-Cotterêts to the Grand Palais, from the Gaîté Lyrique to the CENTQUATRE-PARIS and Station F in Paris.
