Benin, 9th country for CANALBOX

On April 30, 2025, Vivendi Africa Group (GVA), now part of CANAL+ Group, officially launched its CANALBOX fiber optic internet service in Benin. The launch ceremony was attended by representatives from the Electronic Communications and Postal Regulatory Authority (ARCEP), the Ministry of Digital Affairs, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

As in other countries where CANALBOX is already established, commercial offers for fiber optic connections to the home (FTTH – Fiber To The Home) are available at several price and speed levels:

  • The Start offer is available at 15,000 CFA francs/month for 50 Mbps.
  • The Premium offer is available at 30,000 CFA francs/month for 200 Mbps. Installation
fees are set at 10,000 CFA francs, and subscriptions can be renewed via Mobile Money, the official website, or CANAL+/CANALBOX points of sale. Customer service is also available by phone.

With this offer, the whole family can be connected to ultra-fast broadband at the same time!

This arrival is part of GVA's pan-African strategy, with the company already present in eight other countries (Côte d'Ivoire, Congo-Brazzaville, Togo, Gabon, Rwanda, DRC, and Burkina Faso).

In each of these markets, Canalbox has established itself through its affordable pricing policy and acclaimed quality of service.

In Benin, the fixed internet market is dominated by operators Isocel, which scored 58,539 points in the nperf 2024 ranking, and Celtiis (55,176 nperf points in 2024).

The CEO of GVA Benin, Yacine Alao, stated that the company's mission is to make the internet fast, reliable, and accessible to all families. The service is already available in several areas of Cotonou and Abomey-Calavi, including Godomey, with a clear desire to expand rapidly.
