Senegal joins Meta's Llama Impact Accelerator Program

Meta, in collaboration with national innovation agencies and local players in the tech ecosystem, is rolling out the Llama Impact Accelerator: a pan-African program designed to support AI solutions developed on the continent, by and for Africans.

The program will be rolled out in four countries: Senegal, Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa.

In Senegal, the program enjoys the active support of the Ministry of Digital Affairs, confirming its ambition to place AI at the heart of its digital strategy.

If you are a Senegalese startup using open-source AI, you can apply to the Llama Impact Acceleration Program, designed to support early-stage innovation aligned with national development priorities:

Health: Improving access to care through AI-powered telemedicine, diagnostic tools, and medical advice platforms for underserved communities.

Agriculture: Provide farmers with tools for analyzing soil quality and crop conditions, managing pests, accessing markets, and developing digital skills.

Education/EdTech: Enhancing youth learning and vocational training through AI-powered educational platforms and personalized development tools.

Carte Blanche: A category open to exceptional solutions outside the main fields.

The program includes six weeks of practical training, technical mentoring, and development support provided by local and international experts. It concludes with a Demo Day, where selected startups will present their solutions in an attempt to win non-equity funding of up to $25,000.

At the end of Demo Day, participants will receive six months of personalized post-program support to strengthen their solution and access other funding opportunities offered by Meta.

Application deadline: June 27, 2025
