TV5 Monde began broadcasting Mea Culpa, a crime series produced in Ivory Coast, on June 4.
This highly original format, created by Landry AGBADOU, was co-produced by African Impact Movies & Nouvelle Chaîne Ivoirienne (NCI), which has already broadcast the series in Ivory Coast and owns the rights, now sold to TV5MONDE.
Landry AGBADOU is known for having been awarded the NISA d'Or 2024 for his film GLA.
Mea Culpa will first be broadcast on TV5Monde plus and will be scheduled on TV5Monde starting June 24.
Mea Culpa, directed by Hervé Achi, consists of 47 26-minute episodes spread over two seasons and explores the confessions of prisoners confronted with their actions.
Through intense face-to-face encounters with criminal investigator Serge N'Da (Arthur Longville), the series delves into the dark corners of the human conscience: guilt, pain, remorse… and sometimes redemption. Mea culpa does not seek to solve cases, but to decode what drives someone to commit the irreparable.
