As we mentioned in a previous article, TV channels' social media strategies vary considerably in Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire.
In Ivory Coast, Facebook remains the primary means for channels to promote their programs, far ahead of TikTok, Instagram, or even YouTube.
In the game of the most popular channel on Facebook, NCI wins by a wide margin ahead of the RTI Group page and Life TV and Channel 3, which are tied.
In total, all RTI sites have more than 8 million followers.
The leading Senegalese channel RTS 1 on Facebook would rank seventh if it were an Ivorian channel. Marodi TV, which has been investing in YouTube for years, recently began to exploit Facebook and is growing strongly year on year: +271,000 followers between June 2023 and June 2024, +231,000 followers between 2024 and 2025, representing the strongest growth with almost double its number of subscribers in two years.
