KAVA, the new streaming platform dedicated exclusively to Nollywood and African content, launched in July 2025 in Lagos, Nigeria, will be rolled out globally in August 2025 with a release in the United Kingdom also targeting the African diaspora.
KAVA is the result of a collaboration between two heavyweights in Nollywood: Inkblot Studios, the first African studio to sign with Amazon Prime and Netflix, and Filmhouse Group, the leader in distribution and movie theaters in West Africa.
From its launch, KAVA offers a curated catalog of around 30 premium Nollywood titles, including blockbusters and exclusive original content.
The platform plans to regularly expand its offering with new content and aims to produce original series and exclusive content in the near future.
KAVA aims to provide specialized global access to African films and series, particularly for the diaspora (more than 17 million Nigerians abroad).
KAVA is accessible via subscription on mobile, tablet, and Smart TV, with a gradual rollout including first a web version and then dedicated applications.
According to the platform's leaders, "KAVA will help create a new economy for African creators, ensuring fair compensation and increased visibility on the international stage."
KAVA aims to become the digital home of African cinema, stimulating creativity and global recognition of Nollywood talent, while meeting the growing demand for authentic African stories.
