Three African series selected for the Rendez-vous Création Francophone at the La Rochelle Fiction Festival

The series ECHOES (10×52'), developed by Aby Media (Kimberley Azria and Bernard Azria) in partnership with RTI, has been selected for the Rendez-vous de la Création Francophone at the La Rochelle Fiction Festival, which will take place on September 16 and 17 and will showcase a select group of projects with strong international potential.
ECHOES follows the journey of four young podcasters in Abidjan who, by reopening an old case in their show, find themselves on the trail of a sprawling environmental conspiracy. Written by Astou Sedy Diouf
and Khalif Soumaoro, this series tackles major contemporary issues: social justice, environmental sustainability, and industrial ethics. It is a social thriller that opens up a necessary dialogue and gives a voice to a lucid, connected, committed, and determined African youth determined to make itself heard in a changing world.

ECHOES will be competing with 15 other projects, including:

  • BIKE LIFE (France, Senegal) an 8×52’ series written by Mamyto Nakamura and Charli Beleteau and produced by Special Touch Studios (Sébastien Onomo)
  • And LA VOIX DE LA BAIE (France, Ivory Coast, Senegal), a series of four 45-minute episodes written by Dinah Effoudou and produced by Habebo Studios (Betty Sulty Johnson), Instant2vie (Charly Kodjo), and Sunuy Films (Souleymane Kebe).
