Some time ago, CANAL+ Advertising asked Médiamétrie to propose a methodology that would enable it to determine the audience for channels distributed by CANAL+ based on analysis of decoders capable of continuously measuring which channels are watched in subscriber households.

To transform the household audience provided by technical logs into an individual audience, Médiamétrie has implemented a hybrid method using an in-depth survey of all individuals in households to identify and understand their joint television consumption.

CANAL+ ADVERTISING has published the Africamat results for the first quarter of 2025 on its website, enabling the ranking of the most watched channels by CANAL+ subscribers across all countries surveyed (4 countries).

Unsurprisingly, Novelas TV ranks first, followed by Nollywood TV and Nollywood Epic combined. CANAL+Sport ranks third, tied with A+, followed by CANAL+ channels combined.

Action and RTL9 complete this ranking of channels with more than 1% audience share.

These 11 channels alone account for 40% of the total audience.

The remaining 60% is spread across dozens of channels, each of which has less than 1% of the total audience in the four countries studied.

In the Women's category, two new channels appear in the ranking: ZEE Magic and MANDEKA, replacing Infosport and France 24.

For men, the only change concerns CANAL+ SPORT, which has moved back into first place ahead of NOVELAS TV and NOLLYWOOD.

It should be noted that Africamat's results only cover households subscribing to CANAL+.
