Médiamétrie has just published the audience results for the third quarter of 2021 from its regular declarative measurement of television audiences in Côte d'Ivoire (from July 3 to September 19, 2021), conducted in collaboration with Omedia.
While the general television indicators have not changed significantly compared to previous periods, certain information has emerged that provides greater visibility on the hierarchy of DTT channels in Côte d'Ivoire at the start of the 2021 academic year.
It should be noted that, to date, the channels available on Ivorian DTT (in DTT numbering order) are: RTI1, RTI2, La 3, NCI, A+IVOIRE, LIFETV, and 7 infos (which has so far only begun broadcasting via satellite).
In this specific channel universe, according to our information, A+ Ivoire leads with 41% market share, followed by RTI 1 with 22% market share and NCI (Nouvelle Chaîne Ivoirienne) with 16%.
RTI 2 (11%), Life TV (6%), and the youngest member of the RTI group, RTI 3 (3%), complete the ranking.
In terms of viewing time per viewer (DET), A+Ivoire remains in first place with 1 hour 25 minutes of viewing per day, but NCI, with 60 minutes per day, is ahead of RTI1 (54 minutes).
While A+IVOIRE's first place is no surprise, NCI's progress is, as the channel is now hot on the heels of RTI1 and well ahead of its direct competitor Life TV.
The programming schedule introduced in July was an opportunity
for NCI to score many points, which clearly had a positive impact on its audience ratings
: exclusive coverage of the historic meeting between President Ouattara and Laurent Gbagbo, continued news programming, the launch of entertainment shows Showbuzz and La télé d'ici vacances, and the broadcast of the series Derrière l'eau with Michel Gohou.
A+ Ivoire and Life TV recently
announced
their new programs, as we mentioned in our previous articles. This competition between channels and the proliferation of new programs produced in Côte d'Ivoire is creating a dynamic that benefits Ivorians and that the advertising market and advertisers must seize upon.
