CANAL+ Advertising, the leading advertising agency in French-speaking sub-Saharan Africa, recently published in its sales pitch the audience shares of channels based on the latest data from KANTAR's Africascope 2023 study.
In addition to the results for SENEGAL, CAMEROON, and IVORY COAST published by Adweknow last week, here are the top channels in BURKINA FASO and MALI.
BURKINA FASO
In Burkina Faso, the top three spots are occupied by national channels:
TNB dominates with a 15% audience share across the entire population.
BF1 in second place with 10% audience share
Savane TV (private channel) reaches 9%.
The channels marketed by CANAL+ Advertising come next in this order:
All Canal+ Sport channels (7%),
TV soap operas (6%)
A+ (6%)
Nollywood TV + Nollywood Epic (5%)
all CANAL+ channels (4%)
TRACE Africa+ TRACE Urban (4%)
Finally, BurkinaInfo takes 10th place with 4% of the audience share as well.
MALI
In Mali, national channels also occupy the top spots:
ORTM dominates with a 17% audience share among the entire population.
Cherifla TV ranks second with a 13% audience share.
followed by TM2 and Novelas TV, which garnered 7% of the audience share.
Next, we find
CANAL+SPORT channels in 5th place (R% of audience share)
followed by ACTION (5%),
CANAL+ channels (5%),
the Malian channel Renouveau TV (4%),
NOLLYWWOD channels (4%)
and the religious television channel Nieta TV (3%)
