"Our ambition remains clear: to make RTI a benchmark for broadcasting in West Africa, providing credible news, civic education, and quality entertainment."
Jean Martial Adou, Chief Executive Officer of RTI
RTI (Radio Télévision Ivoirienne) has unveiled its new programming schedule, which focuses on renewal, proximity, and innovation.
With these three television channels and two national radio stations, RTI is the best-funded public service in French-speaking Africa, with 17.44 billion CFA francs for 2025 (license fee).
According to the new audiovisual media audience measurement system implemented and certified by HACA and carried out by KANTAR, the three channels RTI1, RTI2, and La 3 had a combined audience share of 12.3% in September 2025 (representing approximately 35% of the audience of Ivorian channels taken individually).
Information, which is the group's strong point, is particularly in the spotlight this fall with the broadcast of numerous programs on RTI1.
- Facing the voters: a special program designed as a civic forum around the 2025 presidential election. It allows candidates to debate and interact with the public live, emphasizing transparency and democratic participation.
- The Press Club: A new format for debate and analysis of current affairs, where journalists and experts discuss major issues affecting the country and Africa, drawing on reports and field investigations.
- Ça fait l’actualité is a bi-monthly program that explains and analyzes major news stories in Côte d’Ivoire, Africa, and around the world.
- Le Débat de l’Info: A talk show that explores a social or political issue in depth each week, with leading guests and audience participation.
- RTI 1 Reçoit highlights those who are driving society forward. Public figures, entrepreneurs, development actors… each guest speaks candidly in an authentic and enriching exchange.
Fiction is also one of the areas in which RTI has high ambitions, with management announcing that it will launch and promote several local series and dramas in 2025 to showcase national creativity and local talent. The aim of this original content is to "tell contemporary Ivorian stories and strengthen cultural identity on screen."
However, no details about the names of these series or their broadcast dates have been released.
The third strength of RTI is digital: RTI Play, its new platform launched in June 2025, brings together all the media published by the RTI group (TV and radio) with live streaming and program replays.
In addition, the number of subscribers to the Facebook pages of all RTI sites (RTI1, RTI2, La 3, RTI info, RTI group) exceeds 8 million, thanks in particular to La 3's dynamism in this area.
With its three channels, substantial budget, history, and clear ambitions, RTI has many assets at its disposal to achieve its objectives.
However, it faces a highly competitive audiovisual market: private channels such as A+ivoire, NCI, LifeTV, and even 7 info have launched numerous high-quality entertainment and news programs, each carving out its own niche and expanding its reach by broadcasting programs not offered by international channels.
